In reality, nothing really interests me right now. I'm sick of the political wrangling all over television about "Obama's a socialist" and "Glenn Beck is a wiener" and "Rush Limbaugh is a drug-addled gas bag" and the like. Have you ever wondered what would happen if all sides just quit with the name calling and the party platforms and just got to work? Scary thought, isn't it?
Anyway, I think what I'll do tonight is just post a few things that I think, no matter how random or silly they may be. (Like that would be different in any case?)
1) Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy is a great book. Period. The wittiness, intelligence, and sometime silliness that Douglas Adams put down on paper is not to be missed. Don't judge this book by the recent movie adaptation. That version doesn't do the book any justice. In fact, I would much rather watch the old BBC version than the recent film. Nevertheless, just read the book.
2) There is almost no new music out there that I like. It all sounds the same to me. Maybe I'm getting old. (All of you people nodding your heads right now...stop it.) I like a variety of music, but with Garth Brooks retired, and the majority of artists out there over-synthesizing their songs so that you can't tell if it's live or Memorex, I just can't find anything I like. On top of that, one of my favorite groups, Rockapella, is losing another member. That makes 3 out of 5 gone within the last five years or so. It just isn't the same. Anyway, if you like music that is described as "folk", but is actually a combination of folk, blues, and just plain talent, give a listen to Amos Lee. He's fantastic.
3) I love the variety of internet comic strips out there devoted to the Disney takeover of Marvel. One of my favorites has the X-Men's Beast being let go by Human Resources due to redundant positions. (Think "Beauty and the...".) Another one has Mickey Mouse looking over his shoulder with Wolverine claws sticking out. Just plain funny stuff.
4) I think the Kings are going to be terrible again this year. I hope not, but I think they will.
4b) I think the 49ers will be very average this year, but could finish over .500.
4c) The Raiders will be lucky to win a game.
4d) Michael Crabtree is an idiot.
4e) I need to go to a Rivercats game some day.
5) I need to go to bed now.
That last one just struck me. Amazing, don't you think?
Side note to those who keep asking for chapter 3 of French Bred: It isn't coming anytime soon. If I write it, I'll email it to the few people asking for it. I won't post it here.

Ok..so I am totally going to read Hitchhikers’ Guide. I have another dear friend that keeps wanting me to read it..so gonna do it. =) Thanks for the recommend.
I care nothing about the sports comments..but then you already knew that..I get enough of that at home. =D
Going to check out Amos Lee today..but..you know how I feel about 'FOLK' LOL! I am doing this because anyone who likes Garth as much as you..has to have some musical taste.
About French Bred..you need to write it Adam. You need to stop putting it off..seriously..its a great idea for a book and you have the humor to make it interesting. I know you have all the chapters mapped out in your head.. Just write it. Get yourself an agent..and run it by him/her (after you patent it of course). That way..you will have a professional's opinion and then you will really know if it was worth the effort. Even if you never have it published..what an awesome gift to your family and friends..it is totally a win, win. WRITE IT! (said totally in a younger (ha, ha) sister’s voice. =)

Definitely read Hitchhiker's, but do it with your tongue firmly implanted in your cheek. It's snarky and hilarious.
For Amos Lee, start out with "Listen" and "Street Corner Preacher" and maybe "Shout Out Loud".
Thanks for the props on the book. I guess I'm just a bit afraid of failure. But you're right. I'll never know unless I try. I just have to convince myself to set aside time every day to work on it, like a job.
Just found out my dinosaur of a computer will not allow me to listen to Amos..Grrr..but, I have other options..I will let you know what I think..=)

postings'..we know you have the time..Ha..Ha..just kidding...maybe we won't have to do an intevention after all..LOL!
Snarky and hilarious are just my style. I'll have to read 'Hitchhikers' now.
Follow Tami's advice. She is a wise woman (minus the occasional blond moment). And I'm not just saying that because I want to read chapter 3. I'm a reasonably well-read person, who continues to read quite a bit. When I find something that is fun and reasonably well-written, I rejoice and recommend it to friends. It's much easier to recommend a book than a blog. Some of my friends aren't as technologically savvy. So, get crackin' mister!
LOVE LOVE LOVE Hitchhiker's Guide!! LOOOOVE. Talk about something I can read over and over again! I also prefer the old BBC version, but-then again-when DON'T I prefer the BBC version of anything?
