Anyway, I have a meeting at 7:30 tonight, and I think I need a nap. Old age must be creeping up on me.

Many of us have experienced life's lessons the hard way. Not all of us learn the lessons. I used to say this would be "opinionated...yet balanced." I now realize that what I meant was "opinionated...and usually reasonable". Let's leave it at that.
